Best Peruvian Pisco: SUYO Exploratory Series Albilla
I Vetted the Best Brandy Brands to Find the 21 Top Bottles of Cognac, Armagnac, and More for 2027
Our primer is covering all the basics you need to know about the best brandy, including what is brandy and the best brandy brands to sip this season.

Founded to showcase Peruvian terroir through single-origin expressions sourced from family-owned vineyards, SUYO shows that pisco can be a nuanced spirit built for neat sipping rather than just anchoring a standard sour. While the brand’s core portfolio consistently delivers, this limited Exploratory Series release highlights Albilla—a rare grape known in Spain as Palomino Fino for sherry production, but uniquely adapted to Peru’s coastal climate. Sourced from Fundo Puente Viejo, a vineyard sitting near the Pacific Ocean in Mala, Lima, this 2023 vintage rested for over two years before bottling. The result is a highly mineral-driven pour that opens with bright citrus and fresh vegetal notes, with a honeysuckle finish. With only 563 bottles produced globally—and just 234 allocated to the US—it offers a rare, highly specific snapshot of coastal terroir.
